You earn a flat $100 when a landlord you refer starts a paid annual Domatia subscription. It is a payment for a software signup. It is not a real estate referral fee, not a co-brokerage split, and not contingent on any property being bought, sold, financed, or leased. Nothing about it depends on a real estate closing or a settlement service.
Check your license and your broker first
Real estate licensing rules and RESPA vary by state and by transaction. Before you promote Domatia to clients, confirm with your broker, and your attorney if needed, that taking part fits your license and your brokerage's policy. If your state or broker restricts outside compensation, follow those rules.
Disclose that you may earn
If you recommend Domatia publicly, the FTC expects a clear disclosure that you may earn a software referral fee. A short line such as "I may earn a referral fee if you sign up for Domatia" is enough. Payouts run through Stripe once your balance reaches $100, and Domatia may issue a 1099 if you earn over $600 in a calendar year.
